First National Dialogue on HIV Drug Resistance in Uganda

The first National Dialogue on HIV Drug Resistance in Uganda was held on 12th December at national theater gardens.

  • Mar 11, 2016

This dialogue is a collaborative partnership between People In Need Agency – PINA Uganda, the Amsterdam Institute of Global Health and Development, PharmAccess Foundation and our community partners including Joint Clinical Research Centre, Kampala. This effort is spearheaded by Mr. Moses Nsubuga Supercharger, the Director for Special Projects at PINA and Chairperson of the Community Advisory Board of the Joint Clinical Research Center (JCRC).

This dialogue is an annual meeting for researchers, practitioners, policy makers and persons living with and affected by HIV and all other stakeholders committed to ending the HIV epidemic to share their knowledge, experiences and insights on the causes of HIV drug resistance in Africa, and to explore opportunities to collaborate on initiatives aimed at addressing this challenge. It is a chance to assess where we are, evaluate recent scientific developments and lessons learned, translate science into practice and collectively chart a course forward. The dialogue was financially supported by AIGHD, represented by principal investigator Prof Tobias Rinke de Wit, Director Research at PharmAccess Foundation.
