Welcome to the PharmAccess Ghana office

A thriving office in the center of Accra leading healthcare programs accross Ghana.

The Ghana office opened in 2012…

…with a vision to increase access to affordable and better healthcare for people in Sub Saharan Africa. Today, the Ghana office is thriving with a multidisciplinary team of Medical Doctors, Bankers, Nurses, Pharmacists and other specialists.

PharmAccess mobilizes public and private resources for the benefit of healthcare providers and patients through a combination of health insurance, loans to healthcare providers, quality standards, provider services, and mHealth innovations that are tested in the PharmAccess mHealth lab.

Our goal is to digitalize 200 healthcare facilities by 2022. Beginning with five healthcare facilities in Accra by building a health payment infrastructure (Health PIN) capable of accepting electronic money from platforms such as mobile money, e-cards and payment aggregators.

Leading to improved efficiencies for managing financial operations by increasing access to accurate, aggregated, real time data for analysis and access to financing. With programs such as Cash advance and NHIS receivables taking the financial pressures from healthcare providers and ultimately resulting in a reduction in waiting time and increase in patient satisfaction.

CovidConnect

CovidConnect is a new virtual monitoring app with a back-end care coordination centre that give subscribers access to needed clinical support from a team of medical experts, and provides users access to credible sources of information on Covid-19.

The service is developed by Luscii and set up by the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), in partnership with the Ministry of Health.

Partnerships that make a difference

Ghana is taking major strides towards achieving its Universal Health Coverage (UHC) 2030 agenda including achieving quality health for all, as 35 medical professionals have been trained and certified under a global health quality improvement program: SafeCare. To implement the program, PharmAccess is partnering with the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG), a network of over 300 health provider organizations in the country.

“The SafeCare certification will inspire confidence in patients that they would receive standardized quality of care at CHAG facilities.”
– Deputy Executive Director of CHAG, Dr. James Duah, Ghana
