October 15, is Global Handwashing Day. The day is dedicated to increasing awareness on and understanding the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives. SafeCare’s quality improvement activities are giving healthcare providers in Africa the tools and skills to improve the quality of their healthcare services. Effective prevention and control of infections is one of SafeCare’s key focus areas. The infographic below illustrates how 45% (and counting) facilities under SafeCare have put in place safe handwashing procedures.
