PharmAccess at the European Development Days

This year, PharmAccess will host a panel at the European Development Days (EDD) in Brussels. Organised by the European Commission, EDD brings the development community together each year to share ideas and experiences in ways that inspire new partnerships and innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.

This year’s focus is on women and girls at the forefront of sustainable development, in order to promote gender equality and the importance of empowering women and girls all over the world. The campaign #SheisWe shows that when women are empowered, protected, trusted and invested in, there are benefits for all of us.

PharmAccess’ will host the panel together with the Ministry of foreign affairs, a long-standing and committed partner to development. The session is named: ‘’technologies that transform healthcare and empower people’’ and will explore technologies developed by Philips and PharmAccess, as well as some of the most pressing issues in the healthcare sector in sub-Saharan Africa that require new solutions. Finally, the panel will debate if technologies that exist have been developed to meet the needs of women appropriately.

Members of the panel are Mrs. Bunmi Jetawo-Winter Director General, Kwara State Hospitals Management Bureau, Nigeria, Aaltje de Roos, Senior Policy Advisor, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Christoph Castellaz, Business Solution Leader Primary & Community Care, Philips, Bonifacia Benefo Agyei, SafeCare Country Manager, PharmAccess Ghana and Cees Hesp, Director of mHealth Research Labs, PharmAccess Foundation.  Our panel takes place on June 6 and is accessible for all visitors of EDD. We look forward to welcoming you there!
