PharmAccess receives second annual grant from Dutch Postcode Lottery

At yesterday's Goed Geld Gala, the Dutch Postcode Lottery distributed a record amount of more than 302 million euro among 101 attending organizations.

The gala, which is the Netherlands’ largest charity event, took place in Amsterdam’s Royal Carre Theater. Guests of honor Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu delivered inspiring speeches highlighting the work of the Dutch Postcode Lottery. Thanks to the 2.5 million lottery participants in the Netherlands, the Dutch Postcode Lottery raised over 302 million euro in 2013. This makes the Dutch Postcode Lottery the second largest private charity donor in the world.

PharmAccess has been a beneficiary of the Dutch Postcode Lottery since 2013 and received its second annual grant of 500,000 euro. In addition, a total of 26 organizations received a one-time contribution, and four organizations were added to the 89 charities receiving annual grants. Peace Parks and the World Wide Fund for Nature received an amazing 14.4 million euro to save the African rhino from extinction.

PharmAccess is sincerely grateful to the Dutch Postcode Lottery and its participants for their support and recognition of our work. With this annual grant, we can continue to improve access to affordable and high quality health care for people in Africa.
