Testing for COVID-19 remains a major challenge worldwide, even in European largest economies.

In his latest publication, Prof. Tobias Rinke de Wit, Director Research & Learning at PharmAccess argues the world should turn to Africa for important lessons on outbreak management.

In Africa, rapid diagnostic tests are in use for all kinds of outbreaks, like, Ebola, HIV and malaria. This will increasingly be the case for COVID-19. In Europe we can learn from this and make those rapid tests available to our population, if necessary even in the supermarkets.

Citizens should be empowered by allowing them to test themselves at any time, any place.
