The event, titled “Healthy Kisumu”, addressed the growing threat of climate-sensitive diseases and emphasized the vital role of Community Health Promoters (CHPs) in early detection, prevention, and education.
We also presented ongoing work on the development of a multiplex diagnostic tool—a low-cost, point-of-care solution designed with and for African communities.
Key takeaways:
• Climate change is a public health issue.
• Local diagnostics can transform early intervention.
• CHPs are the backbone of resilient health systems.
• Citizen events foster real dialogue and shared solutions.
The feedback and collaboration from this event will shape the next steps of DIDIDA across partner countries.
