The Dutch Postcode Lottery (Nationale Postcode Loterij) has renewed its partnership with us for another five years, starting in January 2027.
Since 2013, the Lottery has given us something rare in development funding: long-term, flexible support. Because it isn’t tied to a single project, it gives us room to test bold ideas, learn quickly and scale what works, all in pursuit of our mission of financial protection and quality care for everyone in Africa.
What this support has helped achieve
Together, we have helped connect more than 45 million people across sub-Saharan Africa to health insurance. Through MomCare, our maternal care programme, pregnant women have a health wallet on their phone that gives them access to better care, both in clinics and at home.
Our work on non-communicable diseases is improving outcomes for people living with hypertension and diabetes. In Ghana, for example, hypertension control rates in our programme rose from 48% to 55%.
Looking ahead
The next five years will support our ambition of health sovereignty: health systems that African countries, institutions and people can own, govern and sustain.
We thank the Nationale Postcode Loterij for its trust, and every lottery participant who makes this support possible.
