AEIP is an EU-funded platform that brings African and European innovators together.
Med4All is a digital platform where health facilities in Ghana buy medicines directly from vetted suppliers. It now serves 145 facilities and has reached over 1.5 million patients.
The challenge drew almost 160 applications. AEIP formed 25 partnerships, and six weeks of collaboration led to 17 solutions. Med4All was matched with the University of Oslo (Norway), DawaChap (Tanzania) and Jabez Remedy (Ethiopia). Together they put forward a way to connect digital platforms along the medicine supply chain, so that quality-assured medicines reach more people across Africa.
“This recognition confirms that a model proven in Ghana is relevant across the continent. It also opens a direct route to build it with partners already tackling the same problem elsewhere,” said Samuel Akuffo, Managing Director of Med4All.
Congratulations to the Med4All team, and thank you to The Helmsley Charitable Trust for its support.
